In reaction to advertisers posting promotional content in their cover photos, on January 15th Facebook introduced changes to their policies on cover photos, page post ads and sponsored stories. The popular social media site will only allow 20% of a cover photo (see Facebook cover photo guidelines) or paid ad to be text. Does your Facebook page contain a call to action or promotion?

Tread with caution! Check out the Facebook guidelines to learn more about the new policy.

Facebook will be releasing a tool to help users determine if their paid ads and cover photos contain over 20% text. Call us for help implementing your social media marketing plan.
